Yogic Philosophy for a Modern World

Self-confessed fitness fanatic, trainer and yoga teacher, Mark Moon, shares a modern spin on his top five yogic philosophies. No matter your practice, these principles can be applied to any health, fitness or life goals.

 #1 Trust the path

If you don’t trust the process, the practice, your teacher or your philosophy, find a new one. You can only achieve what you truly believe in.

 #2 Constant effort in practice

Whilst manifestation can be meaningful, movement is the only thing that will create momentum. Don’t let perfect get in the way of good.

 #3 Visualise the goal

We respond to what we repeat. You can either live as if your goal is already true or speak to yourself as if you’ll never achieve it.

 #4 Disciplined focus

Multi-tasking can feel good in the short-term, but will quickly exhaust you. For sustainable progress, select a key focus point to tackle without distraction.

 #5 Self-awareness

Understand your needs. Trial new things, listen to your body, pay attention to your mind and find an approach that works for you.
